Chief Development Officer

Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Chief Development Officer to St. Mary Medical Center in Apply Valley, CA. 

The Chief Development Officer for the St. Mary Medical Center Foundation, leads foundation programs and obtains philanthropic support for the ministry. This position reports to the Hospital President and CEO.

Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field, advance degree preferred. 
Minimum of five years of experience in managing and directing fund development programs. 
Participation in courses on fund development. 
Certification by the Association of Fundraising Professionals preferred. 
Knowledge of and experience in the field of fund development, including major gift fund raising, grant development, planned giving, and annual giving. 
Advanced interpersonal and leadership skills necessary to deal effectively and persuasively with a variety of influential internal and external contacts when eliciting cooperation and support for the hospital. 
Strong leadership and organizational skills required to lead the board of directors, volunteers, and staff of the Foundation. 
Advanced analytical skills to determine effective fund development strategies, identify potential sources of contributions and develop short and long term development goals and objectives of the hospital. 
Good communication skills, both verbal and written are essential.
