Founded in 1977, Wilmington Community Clinic (WCC) offers patients in the Wilmington and Los Angeles areas wellness visits and school physicals, women's health services, STD testing, health maintenance guidance, primary care visits, prenatal exams, pediatric care and mental health services.

About the Position

Under the direct supervision of the CEO, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the full range of financial functions including fund accounting principles, financial statements, budgets, grant coordination, tax audits, banking, investments and borrowing, contract and billing financial issues, development of financial policies and procedures, and supervision of the financial team.

Summary of Responsibilities

· Develop and recommend accounting/financial policies, procedures, programs and strategies

· Develop a long range financial plan to enhance the financial stability of the Clinic

· Prepare annual operating budgets and forecasts in conjunction with management staff

· Handle cash management and bank relations

· Participate as a member of the Executive Management Team in planning and decision making

· Conduct analysis and interpretation of operating results and review capital expenditures

· Implement and maintain financial and administrative controls

· Advise and assist other members of management on financial matters

· Make studies and submit recommendations for improved operations

· Advise and coordinate with the Board's Finance and Audit Committee

· Select, develop and evaluate departmental personnel

· Serve as the liaison for the organization with outside financial advisors, consultants and auditors

· Coordinate the preparation and filing of required government reports

· Manage all government contracts

Summary of Qualifications

· 7 to 10 years of senior level financial management experience of an FQHC

· Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration and/or equivalent experience required

· Prior CFO and/or controller experience with a nonprofit organization highly desirable

· Demonstrated direct responsibility for financial investment and budgeting areas

· Knowledge of fund accountant principles, governmental contracts and grant administration

· Knowledge of taxation issues for nonprofit organizations

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Superior computer skills including word processing, database operations, and spreadsheets

· Relevant advanced degree is desirable
