SUMMARY

The Director of Facilitiesis responsible for all facilities management operations including procedures for maintenance repairs and work orders, systems for effective oversight, capital projects, safety related trainings, leases and contracts, supervision of an Assistant Director of Facilities Management & Security (ADFMS) and his or her subordinate staff. The direct maintenance and security oversight of 8 Head Start sites. The Directoralso ensure that all building and security compliance related to licensing and accreditation are met.

PRIMARY DUTIES

Facilities

A. Provides facilities related supervision to the ADFMS that includes:

* Monitoring major facility related issues;

* Approval for contractor related work and purchases;

* Approval and review of monthly expenditures;

* Contract negotiations and approval;

* Collaboration with Directors on performance;

* Bi- weekly, joint supervision; and

* Hiring, disciplinary, evaluating and terminating.

B. Provides direct maintenance and security support to the 8 Head Start sites including:

* Conducting facility walk-throughs;

* Assessing maintenance and security issues;

* Identifying contractors; and

* Evaluating and signing off on work;

C. Directs all aspects of regulatory compliance for facilities applicable to building safetycodes to include valid licensing and certificates for elevators, fire extinguishers, hood systems, health department and fire marshal inspections.

D. Assist Senior Directors in developing and updating emergency preparedness plans.

E. Coordinate and monitors the status of work orders and preventative maintenance through a systematic approach.

F. Participates, implements, and reports on the facility and security section of the SVDP Strategic Plan and is responsible for developing the future of this function for future growth and development.

G. Assist President and CEO in coordinating capital improvement projects and forecastingfuture facility improvement plans.

H. Negotiates and overseeing all facilities and security contracts and leases.

I. Plans, develops and prioritizes projects, schedule appropriate contractor according toneeded repairs.

J. Act as the project manager for construction and re-modeling projects.

K. Writes Request for Bids (RFB) for construction and/or renovation projects.

L. Manages financial resources with efficiency and fiscal responsibility including but not limited to recommending facilities and security budgets, evaluating monthlyexpenditure reports, negotiating fiscally responsible leases and contract and making fiscally sound decisions when prioritizing work.

SECONDARY DUTIES

A. Acts as the lead of the Safety and Security Performance Management Committee.

B. Monitors emergencies and threats within proximity of SVDP facilities.

C. Train and certify staff in safety related trainings as deemed appropriate by human resources.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

A. Upholds the mission and values of SVDP.

B. On-Call responsibility for facility related emergencies.

C. Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

A. Bachelors degree in facility management, construction, engineering, non-profitmanagement or human services. Masters degree preferred.

B. Three (3) years of non-profit facility management

C. One (1) year of experience involving safety and security or relationship building withlaw enforcement.

D. One (1) year of experience conducting and coordinating staff training.

E. Skills in client crisis response preferred.

F. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

G. Skills in budget management preferred.

H. Knowledge of facility As-Builts, blueprints and floor plans

I. Desire and ability to work as a team player.

J.Require a car and the ability to travel to meetings and SVDP facilities.
