Director of Finance and Administration

New Door Ventures, a $7M innovative and growing nonprofit serving disconnected youth in the San Francisco Bay Area, seeks a Director of Finance and Administration. The Director of Finance and Administration is a seasoned financial leader who will oversee administrative operations, finance and accounting across the organization, maintaining and designing appropriate accounting and finance procedures and systems, assuring that strong internal controls are in place and that the organization is GAAP-compliant and is striving for best practices in non-profit accounting. The Director is responsible for regular financial reporting, as well as budgeting and management of the annual financial audit. An effective communicator and thought partner, the Director provides critical inputs to strategic and business planning, excellent analysis, and informed recommendations to executive leadership and the board of directors. A strong manager and team-builder, with an eye for process improvement, the Director shares day-to-day responsibility for A/P, A/R, general ledger accounting and payroll with a staff accountant. With the support of the office manager, the Director also oversees administrative operations including IT, insurance and risk management, contracts and facilities.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Finance and Administration will join New Door leadership as the organization completes its first year of a strategic expansion into the East Bay. The Director will play a key role in financial planning and development and implementation of financial and operational systems and infrastructure for continued successful growth.

The ideal candidate for this position is a finance and accounting expert willing to engage in a broad range of activities from transactional to strategic. The candidate is a proven, proactive leader and manager, an effective communicator, and a team player who thrives on building and improving systems to support the growth and impact of the organization.

 

Compensation range for this position is $90-$105,000, along with our generous benefits
