Job Description

 

Location:
Continuum of Colorado's Aurora Office - Aurora, CO

Continuum of Colorado, has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Support Services and Special Projects to plan, organize and direct administrative functions necessary to meet program objectives while providing oversight of training activities and funding opportunities. Our Director of Support Services and Special Projects will create and manage marketing strategies, research, present and apply for alternative funding opportunities as well as develop and support teams that oversee programs and service delivery.

Our ideal candidate will utilize creativity and expertise to identify projects, procedures, and to discover areas of need and growth while assuring the effective operation of programs that provide quality services to persons in services and their families, employees and internal/external customers. Our Director of Support Services and Special Projects will be responsible for facilitating communication of policies, practices and programs to management, assuring services are provided by appropriately trained and qualified managers and employees and overseeing health and safety of individuals through provision of quality services and supports.

This position will be based out of our administrative office located in Aurora, CO, typically working Monday-Thursday. We’re committed to a great work-life balance here so our offices are closed on Fridays!

More about what you’ll get to do as our Director of Support Services and Special Projects
* Develops, monitors and implements policies and procedures based on regulatory requirements; ensures follow through by supervisees
* Works with the agency’s Executive Management team in the area of strategic planning; exhibits creativity and ability to implement new and innovative ideas in order to improve the viability of the company
* Assists with creating and implementing departmental goals and objectives and ensures they align with the organization's strategic goals and objectives; seeks input from team members, makes sure supervisees are aware of established goals and objectives
* Assists in researching and writing grants
* Responsible for managing all business and programmatic matters in accordance with regulatory requirements
* Assures customer complaints or comments are responded to in a timely and sensitive manner
* Oversees all personnel management, financial management, and community and public relations
* Responsible for maintaining and executing all aspects of marketing for the company
* Prepares reports for Board Of Directors (BOD); effectively communicates results
* Ensures all regulations are met in regard to reportable incidents; expeditiously informs Mistreatment, Abuse, Neglect and/or Exploitation (MANE) investigator(s) when MANE allegations are reported and ensures investigations begin quickly to ensure individual safety and according to CDPHE/HCPF requirements
* Makes clear, consistent, transparent decisions; distinguishes relevant from irrelevant information; can see connections within complex issues
* Exhibits decisiveness, analytical thinking, dependability and sound judgment in work activities makes effective decisions
* Demonstrates a working knowledge of the legal requirements mandated by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Department of Labor (DOL), the Colorado Civil Rights Division (CCRD), and the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA)
* Problem solves programmatic, personnel and other issues with management team; ability to lead team members effectively and efficiently
* Establishes and directs training criteria for the department
* Ensures that departments’ budget stays within allocated budgetary goals; problems solves variances with management team and supervisees
* Identifies fiduciary and/or budgetary problems, involves others in seeking solutions
* Acts as the liaison with state regulatory agencies
* Keeps supervisor up-to-date about significant issues within program areas; communicates and problem solves with manager regarding areas of concern and/or positive outcomes

Must have’s to be our Director of Support Services and Special Projects
* A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in a Human Services related field is required; Master’s Degree preferred
* A minimum of five (5) years supervisory/management experience is preferred, including supervision of employees
* A working knowledge of management principles and their application is required
* Prior budgeting experience required
* Ability to strategically develop, adapt and maintain systems to streamline processes; working knowledge of computer systems
* Attends and actively participates in committees (Director’s, Risk Management, etc.) as assigned
* Ability to work flexible hours 
* Valid Colorado driver’s license/proof of insurance.
* Meet our agency driving requirements; no suspensions/less than three (3) tickets in three years.

Preferred:
* A minimum of five (5) years of experience working in the Developmental Disabilities field is preferred and/or experience working in a similar setting
* Working knowledge of the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), Colorado Department of Health and Environment (CDPHE) and other rules and regulations is preferred
* Experience working in the nonprofit sector is preferred
* Prior marketing or sales exposure is preferred
* Prior experience researching and writing grant applications preferred
* Strong background in customer service preferred
