Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Pennsylvania is seeking an experienced, results-driven Executive Director. Based out of our West Chester, PA office, and reporting to the Vice President of Operations for Pennsylvania, this role is responsible for oversight and delivery of an array of children’s services through Devereux Children & Adolescents with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Services (CIDDS), approved private schools for children with emotional and behavioral challenges, and residential treatment programs. This key position is responsible for ensuring quality programming, regulatory compliance, fiscal responsibility, organizational development/fundraising activities and anticipated needs of internal and external customers. Also, key to this position is the development of a positive work environment to attract and retain a stable progressive, caring and diverse workforce, needed to ensure the delivery of high quality, cost effective services. The Executive Director will oversee the development and implementation of strategies to address changing markets and assist in the implementation of positive consumer and community awareness programs and activities.

Devereux Children & Adolescents with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Services (CIDDS) provides comprehensive and high quality therapeutic treatment, educational and support services to children, adolescents and families. Services include I/DD, DBD, Autism, and Treatment Family programs for individuals aged 6 to 21. These services are delivered by a diverse work force of over 500 dedicated and talented employees, who are supported by a strong team of local and national resources. CIDDS services include: two Approved Private Day schools, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, therapeutic foster care and a full-time residential program.

  • Forward the Devereux’s mission to change lives – by unlocking and nurturing human potential for people living with emotional, behavioral or cognitive differences;
  • Develop and implement strategies to address a rapidly changing market, an uncertain economic environment, and to reduce unwarranted risk;
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of a positive work environment designed to attract and retain a stable, progressive, caring and diverse workforce needed to ensure the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective service;
  • Create systems that allow Center leadership to develop programs, services and standards to meet the current and anticipated needs of key internal and external customers, including individuals served, families, funding, licensing and other regulatory agencies;
  • Implement long-term revenue, budget and donor strategies that align with Devereux objectives and influence business practices and procedures to support strategies developed;
  • Collaborate with other Devereux Pennsylvania operating Centers to ensure efficiencies, effectiveness and sharing of services;
  • In consultation with the Pennsylvania Development team, develop, plan and execute development activities; and
  • Serve as a member of the President’s Quality Council to advise the President / CEO concerning strategy, allocation of resource and organizational priorities.

  • Requires Master's Degree in Health Care Administration, Human Services, Business Administration or related field. Graduate level credentials in a Behavioral Health or administrative field preferred;
  • Requires a minimum of five years’ experience in a senior level management role within Devereux, or a comparable organization;
  • Must have strong administrative, programmatic and operational experience in a multi-site, multi-disciplinary treatment environment;
