About POTS
Helping low-income families and individuals since 1982, Part of the Solution (POTS) has grown to become a leading provider of emergency food, social services and legal representation in the Bronx. POTS’ unique “one-stop shop” model of interrelated programming has been designed to carry out its vision of helping low-income individuals and families move from crisis to stability and ultimately self-sufficiency. POTS is sponsored by the Sisters of Charity and maintains a covenant relationship with them in fulfilling its mission.

POTS is seeking a new Executive Director, responsible for continuing to expand upon the organization’s successes. The Executive Director is responsible for assisting the Board in developing and managing to the overall organizational strategy; defining and shepherding POTS’ mission, vision and values; leading program execution; building and maintaining key relationships related to development and fundraising; acting as the lead spokesperson for the organization. Executive Director Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is tasked with overseeing all aspects of POTS and works directly with the management team to ensure POTS has the resources and organizational vision to enable individuals seeking services to move from crisis to greater stability to self-sufficiency. POTS is seeking a mission-driven leader that will focus on relationship building, caring for the community and exuding the energy needed to promote POTS as its primary spokesperson. This will include your involvement in overseeing:

  • Development & Fundraising
  • Strategic Vision
  • Management & Organizational Health
  • Spokesperson to the Board of Directors
  • Leading special projects


Executive Director Experience

  • Strategic vision to preserve the mission of POTS while leading the organization into the future and creating new opportunities to serve an even larger community.
  • Ability to motivate, lead and manage a skilled staff, as well as mentor up-and-coming staff to take on the many needs of POTS.
  • Successful relationship builder and presenter to promote POTS and its mission, to build coalitions and relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including an ability to expand POTS’ mission beyond the Bronx and into new communities.
  • Strong financial acumen, budget oversight and forecasting skills with the ability to link strategic and operational goals to fiscal realities and program priorities.
  • Action oriented leader who is an able influencer, gaining buy-in on critical decisions from key stakeholders.
