RAFT’S (RESOURCE AREA FOR TEACHING)

San Jose, CA, USA

Mission:

RAFT’s (Resource Area for Teaching) mission is to help educators transform a child’s learning experience through hands on education to one that inspires the joy and discovery of learning. We are doing this today in the Bay Area with more than 8,000 educators, who teach both inside and outside the classroom. RAFT’s products (Activity Kits & Idea Sheets), services (professional development for teachers and events for volunteers) and low-cost recycled teaching supplies, enrich and improve the education of over 600,000 young people each year.

We are a non-profit with 25 years of impact, which is largely attributed through the meaningful partnerships we have fostered with Bay Area’s educators, non-profits and high-profile organizations who understand the impact of hands on learning. In addition to serving the needs of educators and students, a key tenant of RAFT’s values is to be stewards of the environment. We provide members with an abundance of affordable materials and supplies while diverting roughly 400 cubic feet of materials from landfills donated from corporate partners each and every day!
