Combat Wounded Coalition Program Manager/Warrior Liaison

Warrior Liaison Job Purpose: Supports Combat Wounded Coalition’s mission execution through the provision of outreach and connecting with registered wounded warriors and establishing and collaborating with CWC partner organizations; connecting registered warriors to services offered by vetted partners and researching and establishing partnership agreements with other non-profit and for profit organizations that offer support and services for veterans, their families and families of the fallen that are above and beyond what CWC offer. The CWC program manager/warrior liaison is responsible for contact, referral and tracking of all CWC clients and maintenance of the partner data base.

Job Duties:

  • Establishes and grows relationships with CWC’s Wounded Warriors.
  • Manages and oversees volunteer warrior Liaisons to ensure contact with all CWC program recipients.
  • Researches and determines suitable partner veteran service organizations (local and national) and maintains database of these for referral.
  • Prepares partnership agreements between CWC and vetted service organizations and presents to executive staff for approval and correspondence.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with partner organizations through current CRM system.
  • Provides secondary intake connection after registration and clothing kit distribution. Conducts needs assessments for all program recipients and determines urgency of care.
  • Works with program recipients to establish goals for their needs.
  • Determines suitable referral opportunities for each program recipient.
  • Establishes connections between program recipients and referral organizations.
  • Oversees regular communications by telephone, email or in person with wounded warriors and their families or care givers.
  • Communicates with referral organization to determine estimated time frame for delivery of needed services.
  • Tracks referrals and communicates regularly with program recipients for progress and feedback on organizations.
  • Works with Development Director on drafting grant requests that are available for warrior programs and services.
  • Updates and maintains both warrior and partner databases.
  • Maintains records within CRM to account for all communications with and on behalf of CWC program recipients.
  • Maintains the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality when connecting with combat wounded program recipients.
  • Maintains and updates the warrior FB page. Posts offers and opportunities for warriors. Connects warriors to these opportunities if warriors indicate interest.
  • Works with Development Marketing Director to help promote new partners and new opportunities for CWC donors/sponsors /supporters.
  • Coordinates events to ensure program manager/someone is on site where services and offerings are being presented to the warriors. Use these opportunities to photograph, video and get remarks from warriors as well as the donors so social media and website can be updated with fresh images and commentary.
  • Assist the Overcome Academy Program Manager in screening and sourcing potential OA students for upcoming classes.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for wounded warrior needs during CWC events.
  • Works with volunteer warrior liaisons in finding participants for CWC sponsored events.
  • Works with COO in coordinating and scheduling all travel for out of area warriors and preparing rooming lists for warriors attending CWC events and are remaining overnight for these events.
  • Coordinate transportation for warriors when they are in the local area for events.
  • Assist the Office Manager regarding Wounded Wear clothing kit issues.
  • Assist at events benefitting wounded warriors.
  • Attends external events for wounded warriors on behalf of CWC, speaking on behalf of the organization as required to increase awareness.
  • Maintains narrative and statistical records and impact metrics on wounded warriors and provides data as requested by CWC staff.
  • Collaborates with CWC staff to meet the needs of wounded warriors.
  • Attends CWC staff and events meetings.
  • Tracks hours and activities weekly and reports to the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Warrior Liaison Desired Skills/Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field desired or 3+ years experience in social services; experience working with veterans; non-profit experience; working knowledge of social media; proficient in MS Office applications; experience with CRM data entry and data manipulation; knowledge of veteran service organizations; superior interpersonal skills; highly organized; excellent written and verbal skills; military or military family member preferred.

  • Salary and Benefits: Suggested Compensation based on lower end of industry standard for medium size 501c3 in the Hampton Roads VA area: Individual employed will receive a monthly flat rate salary with eligibility for initial raise after twelve months of employment and proven performance.
    1. Combat Wounded Coalition provides one week (7 days) of paid vacation per year. Additional vacation days (unpaid) are accrued at 7 days per six-month period with a cap of 28 days used per year. Personnel are provided three (unpaid) personal days and four (unpaid) sick days per year.
