Site Director - Baltimore, MD

Byte Back's Baltimore Site Director will have the opportunity to lead the expansion of the 21-year-old tech nonprofit into a brand-new market for the first time in its history. The temp to permanent Site Director in Baltimore, MD will be responsible for ensuring Byte Back's successful expansion by establishing strong partnerships in the city. The Site Director will identify potential partners, lead outreach, and establish mutual agreements, building a strong foundation of student recruitment, graduate employment opportunities, and funding. This will ensure a successful implementation of Byte Back’s educational and career training program in Baltimore.

 

About Byte Back

Byte Back is a nonprofit based in Washington, DC that provides free technology education and career training to more than 700 adults per year. The communities we serve — predominantly people of color, women, and unemployed or underemployed adults — have an incredible and untapped potential to enter living-wage careers and change the tech sector. We are one of the only organizations in the country providing a pathway of training at all levels, from introductory computer classes to industry-recognized certification courses. Byte Back’s innovative approach was recognized with two WeWork Creator Awards. In 2019, Byte Back is poised to expand to Baltimore and explore national expansion, thanks to the $775,000 TD Ready Challenge award.

 

Job responsibilities

  • Establish a robust student referral, employer, and financial partnership program with assistance from Executive, Program, and Development Directors.

  • Collaborate with executive management to develop strategic and implementation plan for the development of Baltimore site.

  • With assistance from Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer, establish local operations in Baltimore.

  • Track all relationships and outcomes in Byte Back’s Salesforce CRM; analyze data to determine next steps for Baltimore implementation.

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Meeting/exceeding student enrollment and job placement goals

  • Meet fund development/financial targets for supporting the s

  • Manage resources and provide exemplary leadership to ensure educational outcomes and job placement requirements are met

  • Identify, analyze, and resolve technical, processes, and operational issues

  • Use data to iterate and course-correct program performance in real time

 

Qualifications

  • Baltimore resident with knowledge and experience in proven local workforce development partners

  • Experience building key partnerships with workforce development and social services providers, government agencies, funders, and employer partners.

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 3-5 years experience in non-profit management

  • Demonstrated ability to meet/exceed fundraising and/or business development goals

  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to effectively present persuasive and informative information to internal and external stakeholders

  • Able to pass local and national background checks

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop employees

  • Ability to work weeknights and/or weekends as necessary/required

  • Experience with data management and analysis

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree

  • Firm understanding of financial policies and budgetary requirements, including forecasting
