Anthropology Department - Undergraduate/Master's Program Officer

Stanford University's Anthropology Department seeks an Undergraduate/Master's Program Officer to lead and support all aspects of undergraduate and master's programs in Anthropology and the Medical Humanities Program.

About the Department:
Anthropology is the study of human experience, action and imagination across all societies and cultures. The department encompasses the full span of human history and societies globally, with special attention to questions of social, cultural, and biological diversity, power, identity, and inequality.

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Student Services Manager, this role serves as the primary point of contact for the Anthropology undergraduate/master's programs and the Medical Humanities Program. The position involves direct oversight of student degree progress, program budget management for research grants and events (recruitment, Admit Day, conferences, commencement), and advising leadership on policy changes.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and administer student records, counsel students, and make decisions on eligibility, enrollment and program requirements
• Manage curriculum organization for all degrees (PhD, MA, BA, minors) via forms, spreadsheets, and course management platforms
• Collaborate with faculty committees, staff, and central offices on program issues and enrollment optimization
• Provide comprehensive academic advising on progress, policies, career planning, and accessibility
• Coordinate production of Anthropology Undergraduate Journal and program materials for social media and recruitment
• Collect and analyze data from student feedback, surveys, and analytics to enhance programs and influence policies
• Hire, train, and supervise undergraduate peer advisors, editorial staff, and student workers
• Work with vendors, hotels, and IT on registration/housing system integrations
• Plan and develop marketing materials, webinars, and education fairs
• Identify trends, perform needs analysis, and participate in implementing new technology
• Manage financial processes including reimbursements and contract administration

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years relevant experience (or equivalent combination)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Customer service orientation and relationship-building abilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and relevant computer systems
• Analysis and problem-solving capabilities
• Understanding of financial transactions and compliance requirements
• Experience fostering inclusive environments with diverse populations
• Event planning and graphic design experience a plus
• Background in Anthropology or related social sciences desirable

Salary: $80,906-$91,375 per annum
Schedule: Full-time, hybrid eligible
Location: Stanford, California
