The State Bar of California's Office of Access & Inclusion seeks a Senior Program Analyst or Lead Program Analyst to join its access to justice and diversity/inclusion team.
About the Office:
The Office of Access & Inclusion leads grantmaking for legal services and policymaking on access to justice and diversity, equity, and inclusion work at the State Bar. In 2025, working with the Legal Services Trust Fund Commission and Board of Trustees, OA&I distributed approximately $313 million to 114 nonprofit legal aid organizations throughout California.
Key Responsibilities:
• Research and draft policies on legal profession regulations, legal technology, and innovations
• Develop public-private partnerships program, including securing additional funding for legal technology
• Support development of coordinated intake systems and administrative rulemaking
• Develop and manage projects advancing access to legal system and DEI in California's legal profession
• Maintain relationships with volunteers, agencies, grantees, and stakeholders
• Some grants administration responsibilities
• Travel required to visit State Bar grantees and stakeholders
Ideal Candidate:
• Excellent communicator with precise writing and analytical skills
• Sound judgment and attention to detail
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Collaboration and relationship building abilities
• Experience in policy analysis, legal aid, or grantmaking preferred
• Passion for social justice, collegiality, and integrity
Senior Program Analyst: Bachelor's degree + 3 years experience. Salary: $104,308-$139,079
Lead Program Analyst: Bachelor's degree + 5 years experience (JD/master's may substitute for 2 years). Salary: $114,747-$152,971
Up to 4 days remote work per week available.
