About the Position

Role: Development Manager
Location: Salem, Oregon
Supervision: 3 employees
Salary: $75,000 annually

The Development Manager is responsible for strategy, implementation, and execution of fundraising initiatives, focusing primarily on major gifts and sustainable revenue growth. Duties affect the financial status of the organization through oversight of the Development Department and cultivation of meaningful relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Planning: Implements an annual development plan in partnership with the Executive Director; oversees and manages the Development Department budget; trains and manages Development Department staff; establishes metrics for success using CRM data; works on capital campaign activities.

Major Donor Cultivation & Stewardship: Directly manages a high-capacity portfolio of 50-70 major donors and prospects; leads face-to-face meetings, proposals, and solicitations; implements a personalized stewardship and recognition program; manages foundation and grant work.

Implementation & Operations: Oversees day-to-day operations of the development function including donor acknowledgement and database management; sets performance goals for Development Department employees; plans and executes signature fundraising events and a major donor fundraising weekend.

Qualifications

Is a Christ-follower in agreement with the RSA Statement of Faith and has a strong, demonstrated commitment to RSA's evangelism mission and values. Strategic acumen with expert verbal communication skills and intermediate management/supervisory skills. Experience of five or more years in non-profit fundraising with demonstrated success in securing major gifts from individuals and foundations (or five years of experience in sales leadership at a for-profit business). Proven track record of managing and growing an annual development program, with two or more years of supervisory experience. Experience conducting major donor events and using CRM platforms is preferred. Bachelor's degree or CFRE is preferred.
