Director, Care Management & Social Work

Phoenix Children's is seeking a Director of Care Management & Social Work to provide overall leadership, strategic direction, and operations oversight of Phoenix Children's Care Coordination Departments, including Inpatient Care Management, Utilization Management, and Social Work.

Position Summary:
This position aims to ensure a positive, family-centered patient experience, manage vendor relationships, implement population health programs, and improve clinical outcomes while lowering costs.

Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to assigned departments and partner with the VP of Revenue Cycle to develop policies and performance metrics
- Direct day-to-day operations to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements
- Manage improvement initiatives, business/project plans, and systems effectiveness
- Oversee budget processes and evaluate new technology
- Maintain relationships with patients, staff, and external vendors
- Develop team members through feedback, training, and performance management

Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Licensure: Current State of Arizona RN License (or compact state); valid AZ DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Experience: 10+ years in case management or social work; 5+ years of managerial experience in an acute care hospital; 5+ years leading functions supporting families with hospital/community resources
- Special Skills: Knowledge of ICD-9/10, MCG, Interqual, patient access functions, revenue cycles, and third-party reimbursement. Strong critical thinking, communication, and computer skills

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing, Management, Organizational Development, or related field
- Pediatric experience
- Extensive knowledge of Milliman guidelines and Allscripts Care Management (ACM)
- Certified Care Manager or Certified Case Manager (CCM) certification
