Director of Compliance, Human Resources

Children's Mercy seeks a Director, HR Compliance to oversee the processes and reporting required by local, regional, Federal, and regulatory agency regulations. This includes I-9 completion, immigration processes, verification of licensure, certification, and registration, biennial background checks on all employees and volunteers, and EEO and affirmative action plans. The role serves as a subject matter expert, liaison with outside counsel, and works with leadership to review business processes and ensure regulatory readiness.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee HR compliance processes (I-9, immigration, licensure verification, background checks, EEO/affirmative action).
• Advise leaders and committees (HR-CRT) on process efficiency and compliance.
• Partner with Legal to ensure adherence to federal and state employment laws and facilitate compliance training.
• Lead policy development and enhancement.
• Oversee the non-employee process.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a Human Resources-related field.
• 7+ years of combined compliance and HR experience.
• Demonstrated successful project leadership preferred.
• SHRM-SCP/CP or SPHR/PHR certification preferred.
