Director of Employee Experience and Development

$124,275 - $166,796 / year

SEIU 775 Benefits Group is a nonprofit whose mission is to improve the skills, health, and stability of the caregiver workforce through innovation and high-quality benefits and programs.

The Director of Employee Experience and Development reports to the Managing Director of Equity and Learning and is responsible for employee engagement, performance management systems, and talent development strategies. This role leads initiatives that enhance engagement, strengthen culture, support professional growth, and build infrastructure to develop and retain an engaged workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead employee engagement strategy including Gallup partnership management, surveys, and action planning
  • Design programs, events, and recognition initiatives that strengthen culture and foster connection
  • Strengthen and optimize performance management infrastructure through UKG
  • Lead learning and development strategy for equity-centered leadership and staff programs
  • Develop succession planning strategy for key leadership roles
  • Provide strategic direction for localization vision
  • Establish metrics to measure learning engagement, performance, and effectiveness
  • Manage departmental budget and resource allocation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Organizational Development, Learning and Development, or related field
  • 7+ years in employee engagement and talent development
  • 5+ years designing and executing engagement and talent programs
  • Strong project management, communication, coaching, and analytical skills
  • Experience navigating remote and distributed environments

Preferred

  • Familiarity with union environments and labor-management partnerships
  • Proficiency in engagement platforms and LMS (Gallup and/or UKG a plus)
