Lead the Funding Strategy that Shapes the Future for Metro Denver’s Youth
At Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver, we’re dedicated to empowering youth and strengthening our community through transformative programs. We’re seeking an experienced Director of Grants & Contracts to lead the strategic management of grants and contracts that support our annual fundraising goal of $8M+.
About the Role
As a key leader in our Resource Development team, you will oversee the full grants and contracts lifecycle – from strategy and proposal development to compliance and reporting – ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and funder expectations. You’ll collaborate across departments, build strong funder relationships, and implement systems that enhance efficiency and long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning for grant and contract acquisition to maximize funding opportunities.
- Oversee proposal development, submission, and reporting in collaboration with the Senior Director of Grants & Contracts.
- Partner with Finance to create accurate, funder-ready budgets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and funder requirements.
- Analyze funding trends and make data-driven recommendations to leadership.
- Represent the organization in high-level funder meetings.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Technical Writing, Business, Public Relations or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Five years of relevant grants management experience. Two years of this experience must be in a leadership role.
Ex: Responsible for directly supervising a team or multiple staff; performing budget management
*Relevant coursework or experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

- Relationship Building & Negotiation – Exceptional interpersonal, relationship management, and negotiation skills to engage internal and external stakeholders effectively.
- Operational & Financial Management – Strong skills in budget oversight, personnel management, and process coordination to maximize efficiency and impact.
- Problem Solving & Adaptability – Critical thinking, flexibility, and change management abilities to navigate complex challenges in a dynamic environment.
- Communication Excellence – Outstanding verbal and written communication skills for proposals, reports, and stakeholder engagement.

Job Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Salary Range: $70,000-$95,000
Hours: Monday -Friday; 40 hours/week
This position works primarily at the Program Support Center but may occasionally work from other BGCMD facilities as necessary. BGCMD employees may work from home one day per week between Tuesday through Thursday. All remote work and other flexible work arrangements must be approved prior to implementation.
