Director of Public Works

COUNTY OF SAN MATEO - PUBLIC WORKS ADMINISTRATION

San Mateo County, California, USA  (On-site)

$22,065.33 - $27,579.07 Monthly ($127.30 - $159.11 Hourly)

Senior department head role for the County of San Mateo Public Works Department. Lead strategic direction, operations, capital projects, infrastructure maintenance, and staff across transportation, utilities, and facilities divisions.

Oversee Public Works operations in a large, diverse Bay Area county. Manage significant budgets, capital programs, and multidisciplinary teams. Partner with county leadership, elected officials, and community stakeholders on complex infrastructure and public works initiatives.

Qualifications: Extensive public works leadership experience with demonstrated success in strategic planning, capital project management, infrastructure operations, financial oversight, and staff leadership in governmental or comparable settings. Strong communication skills for working with elected officials, community members, and partner agencies.
