Divisional Finance Director

Overview

The Divisional Finance Director (DFD) oversees the financial affairs and accounting of The Salvation Army Cascade Division. The DFD provides leadership and supervision to the Finance Department and is responsible for accounting, planning, and reporting for approximately 35 units within the Cascade Division.

Salary: $160,000/year | Status: Exempt / Full Time | Location: Happy Valley, OR

Essential Duties

• Advise divisional administration on fiscal policy and management
• Supervise management reporting including financial statements, audits, and budgets
• Provide oversight of accounting procedures to ensure GAAP and FASB compliance
• Meet monthly with divisional leaders to review finances and reserve accounts
• Maintain relationships with independent CPA auditors
• Prepare timely budgets and financial forecasts
• Visit each field unit annually to review financial performance
• Function as secretary for Command Finance Council

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business (MBA preferred)
• CPA or CMA certification required
• Minimum 5 years experience in managerial accounting and supervisory experience
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP and FASB guidelines
• Proficiency in Excel and Word
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Valid driver's license required

Working Conditions

Travel required, including occasional overnight and out-of-state travel. Must be able to travel by air. The work involves a high degree of independence with minimum supervision.
