Education and Case Specialist (ETHICS AND CMPLNC PROFL 3)

Job Summary
    Under general supervision of the Harassment & Discrimination Assistance and Prevention Program (HDAPP) Director, this position receives and responds to complaints, reports and inquiries from all UCD/UCDH community members regarding discrimination (including hate/bias incidents), harassment (including sexual harassment), and retaliation in accordance with University policies and procedures. The Education and Case Specialist is responsible for conducting initial assessments of complaints, conducting alternative/informal resolutions, and providing education and outreach to the campus community.
    
    Qualifications
    Minimum Qualifications:
    - Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., social work, psychology, higher education administration, law) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    - Experience in conducting intake interviews, assessing complaints, and providing information about reporting options and resources.
    - Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, including Title IX, Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA).
    - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and analyze information, identify key issues, and develop appropriate resolutions.
    - Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
    - Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and good judgment.
    
    Preferred Qualifications:
    - Master's or Juris Doctor (JD) degree in a related field.
    - Experience working in a higher education setting.
    - Experience conducting informal resolutions or mediations.
    - Experience developing and delivering training programs on discrimination and harassment prevention.

    The Harassment & Discrimination Assistance and Prevention Program (HDAPP) is a unit within the Office of Compliance and Policy. HDAPP provides assistance to all members of the UC Davis and UC Davis Health community—students, staff, faculty, and others—who believe they have been subjected to or have witnessed harassment or discrimination.
