Executive Director

Harbor Retirement Associates is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead a senior living community in Wilmington, Delaware. The Executive Director is fully responsible for the management of the Assisted Living, Independent Living, Memory Care community and/or Skilled Nursing Facility. This role ensures high-quality resident care services within budgetary guidelines while meeting or exceeding Harbor Retirement Associates (HRA) standards and maintaining compliance with federal, state, local, and HRA policies.
Essential Functions
Internal Community Relations
- Develop and implement resident relations programs; solicit feedback from residents, families, and others
- Establish effective relationships with department heads to ensure high-quality resident care
- Oversee and monitor nursing services to ensure quality delivery systems
- Monitor resident care daily; conduct daily rounds; implement quality assurance programs
- Maintain positive rapport with regulatory agencies; stay current on federal, state, and local regulation changes
- Oversee facility management and community safety/loss prevention programs
- Ensure high degree of customer satisfaction
Financial
- Plan and develop operating budget within HRA guidelines
- Monitor department performance and analyze community P&L status
- Train community management in cost control techniques
- Manage all contracted services and inventory control systems
Associate Relations
- Oversee recruitment, selection, retention, and termination of all community associates
- Supervise and evaluate all community managers with ongoing coaching and feedback
- Establish positive associate relations, recognition programs, and compensation management
- Ensure staff maintains and protects confidentiality of resident information at all times
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Current ECC and/or CORE Training certification; CRCF certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in supervision and management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Strong communication skills across all levels of management, associates, residents, and families
- Knowledge of current federal and state laws pertaining to IL, AL, MC, and SNF communities
- Passion for working with and around senior citizens
