Head of Major Gifts

The Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art seeks a Head of Major Gifts to lead frontline fundraising efforts for major donors ($5,000+). This senior position serves as second in command for the Development department and partners closely with the Director of Development as a strategic partner and frontline fundraiser.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute multiyear strategy to expand donor pool and increase philanthropic major donor support from $1 million to $2 million annually
• Manage portfolio of 125+ donors and prospective donors
• Lead rigorous prospecting using wealth screening and research platforms
• Supervise Assistant Manager, Major Gifts & Institutional Philanthropy
• Interface with Executive Director, leadership team, Development team, and Board of Trustees
• Create engagement strategies, gift ideas, messaging, and fundraising materials
• Track, analyze, and prepare reports on progress of major gifts

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required, MA preferred
• 10+ years experience in nonprofit setting with major donors, individual giving, and blended campaigns
• Passion for frontline fundraising and building relationships with donors
• Exemplary written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Experience in strategic and capital case development
• Knowledge of Salesforce and donor databases preferred

Salary: $130,000-$135,000 commensurate with experience

This is a full-time, hybrid position with workweek Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Hybrid eligible employees work onsite every Wednesday and one additional day.
