The Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art seeks a Manager, Institutional Philanthropy to lead and execute strategy while managing a portfolio of funders and prospects in support of the museum's multiyear initiatives, capacity building, exhibitions, educational programs, and digital expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and build portfolio of annual and multiyear support from foundations, government, and corporations, raising $500K-$1M+ annually
• Partner with Director of Development on developing and implementing short-term and long-term fundraising goals, strategies, and plans
• Develop strategies and write grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and communications
• Create engagement opportunities, strategies for solicitation, and forge strong cases for support
• Prepare foundation and government reports, working with finance department on budgets and financial information
• Cultivate new institutional support sources and pursue philanthropic opportunities
• Oversee quantitative and qualitative information in CRM system for data-driven metrics
• Manage institutional philanthropy department's budget including revenues and expenditures
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required, MA degree a plus
• Minimum 4-5 years of high-level grant writing experience
• 4-5 years related experience securing support from and developing relationships with foundation, government, and corporate funders
• Exemplary writing and communication skills with attention to detail
• Expertise in strategic planning and developing organizational initiatives preferred
• Knowledge of Salesforce and project management software preferred
• Detail-oriented, able to multitask in fast-paced environment
Salary: $80,000-$85,000
This is a full-time, exempt, hybrid eligible position. Hybrid employees work onsite every Wednesday and one additional day.
