Program Manager, Data Science

The American Heart Association has an opportunity for a Program Manager, Data Science. This position can be home-based.

The Program Manager develops and implements program operations encompassing business and scientific functions with accountability for budget planning, financial analysis, and operational excellence. This includes oversight of mission-critical initiatives including a science-based AI Assessment Lab, National Surveillance Project, and Data Science grant portfolio.

Salary Range: $68,500 - $88,500

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement management frameworks for Data Science Operations, including AI Assessment Lab and National Surveillance Project
- Lead oversight of data science grant portfolio, making recommendations for portfolio management and resource allocation
- Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders across the enterprise
- Direct end-to-end business operations including finance, procurement, vendor relations, and legal partnerships
- Lead strategic planning for annual budget development and execution, including burn rate analysis and financial modeling
- Synthesize complex financial and operational data to develop strategic recommendations and executive-level reporting
- Architect strategic plans for webinar programs and educational initiatives
- Direct national volunteer nomination database operations and workflow optimization
- Partner with Guidelines & Statements VP to translate diverse stakeholder input into executive-level recommendations
- Lead preparation for senior leadership reviews and orchestrate cross-functional communications
- Establish and enforce embargo management protocols

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- At least 3 years of work experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to connect with all levels of staff
- Experience working in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment
- Effective time management and organization skills
- Proficiency in Excel, Smartsheet, and AI tools

PREFERRED:
- Experience supporting business and science operations
- Experience with developing and managing process documentation
