Regional Philanthropy Officer

The American Red Cross is seeking a Regional Philanthropy Officer to support the Alabama Region.
A Regional Philanthropy Officer is responsible for identifying, engaging, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding current and prospective regional donors in expanding their financial support of the work of the American Red Cross. Incumbents will manage an assigned blended portfolio of donors, sponsors, and prospects to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals of $400,000.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects and donors giving at or above $5K
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate donors, understanding their philanthropic goals
- Collaborate with the Director of Development and team members to create comprehensive fundraising plans
- Prepare and present compelling proposals and presentations to donors/potential donors
- Track and report on progress towards fundraising goals
- Organize and participate in donor events and activities
- Conduct regular donor meetings to provide updates on the impact of contributions
- Develop and implement strategies for donor acquisition and retention
- Participate in disaster relief fundraising projects as appropriate
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- Minimum five years of sales and/or fundraising experience required
- Proven experience in developing strategies for donor retention, growth, and recapture
- A valid driver's license and good driving record required
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Knowledge of MS Office and fundraising database systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, Power BI)
- Frequent travel within the region required
