Senior Case Manager – Disability Services

Columbia Health seeks a Senior Case Manager – Disability Services to support accessibility, inclusion, and student success for students with disabilities enrolled at Columbia University's Morningside Campus.

Reporting to the Associate Director for Case Management, the Senior Case Manager will independently provide case-management strategies, interventions, advocacy, and individualized support for a large caseload of students. The position works closely with students, faculty, and university partners to identify and remove barriers to learning.

This is an essential onsite position in New York, New York. Occasional evening and weekend work is required during peak periods; limited hybrid options may be considered.

Key responsibilities include:
- Manage academic accommodations under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
- Develop and implement individualized accommodation plans for students with significant disabilities and complex support needs.
- Review confidential disability documentation and determine eligibility for services and accommodations.
- Advise students on accommodations, disclosure, disability management, self-advocacy, rights, responsibilities, and grievance processes.
- Maintain accurate electronic student records, documentation, and communications.
- Consult and collaborate with faculty, academic administrators, Columbia Health, Public Safety, Dining, Libraries, and other university partners.
- Issue accommodation letters in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Provide outreach, training, and technical assistance to students, faculty, and staff on disability inclusion and university obligations under the ADA.
- Assist with exam, note-taking, classroom, and other accommodation services during peak operational periods.
- Maintain current knowledge of FERPA, Section 504, ADA requirements, and emerging practices in disability services.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Counselor Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, Special Education, or a closely related field.
- At least four years of related experience.
- Knowledge of Section 504, the ADA, state regulations, and accommodation services for students with disabilities.
- Experience evaluating disability documentation and determining eligibility for accommodations.
- Strong written and verbal communication, judgment, confidentiality, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and concurrent priorities.

Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Counselor Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, Special Education, or a related field.
- Experience supporting students with disabilities in a college or university setting.
- Case-management experience.
