Established in 1980, the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center (GLFHC) is a multi-site mission-driven non-profit organization employing over 700 staff whose primary focus is providing the highest quality patient care to residents throughout the Merrimack Valley. Nationally recognized as a leader in community medicine (family practice, pediatrics, internal medicine, and geriatrics), GLFHC has clinical sites throughout the service area and is the sponsoring organization for the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency program.

Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the CEO, the SVP, Chief Financial Officer leads, plans, organizes, directs and controls the financial functions of the Health Center, including Finance and Patient Accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

Administration
• Participates in long-term strategic and financial planning initiatives as a member of the Senior Management team
• Coordinates the timing, preparation and presentation of the annual operating, capital, program and cash flow budgets
• Staffs Finance Committee, attends Board meetings and external meetings to present financial information
• Advises the Chief Executive Officer of issues or inconsistencies in center-wide policies
• Assists with the research and decision making process related to capital equipment purchases
• Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field

Financial Management
• Ensures the development and establishment of financial plans, systems and controls for the Center
• Ensures adequacy and soundness of the Center's financial structure
• Oversees all general accounting functions, including financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable
• Maintains and updates appropriate financial systems, ledgers, policies and procedures
• Ensures that grant related financial reporting requirements are met
• Ensures timely processing of contract vouchers and third party billings
• Oversees preparation and filing of local, state and federal reports/tax forms
• Serves as the financial representative of the Center with outside agencies
• Completes periodic cash flow forecasts and business trend analysis

Patient Accounts
• Oversees all patient accounting and reimbursement functions
• Implements systems to assure that the organization captures all revenue earned for services provided
• Ensures that fee collection policies are updated and compliant with state and federal regulations
• Oversee timely and accurate billing and reimbursement functions

Supervisory Responsibility
• Leads and supervise directly and indirectly, through subordinate supervisors, all Financial and Patient Accounts
• Oversees selection, training and development of Financial and Patient Accounts staff
• Reviews work performance and initiates corrective action of all direct reports
• Provide leadership for employees to experience training opportunities related to quality improvement
• Travel between sites will be required

Qualifications:
• Minimum 7-10 years of progressive financial leadership experience in ambulatory or community health care settings required
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Strong financial management and leadership skills
• Experience with healthcare reimbursement and billing systems
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities
