Salary Range: $220,000 to $250,000 Based on Experience

Feeding America is the nation's largest charity and the leading domestic hunger-relief charity in the United States. This position is based out of Feeding America's Chicago office with a hybrid work model (in office an average of 2 days/week).

The Opportunity: The Vice President, Finance / Controller leads all day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financials. Oversees accounting for cash and equivalents, investments, fixed assets, accounts receivable and payable, and leasing obligations. Provides strategic leadership of audit activities, external reporting requirements, and internal control and risk management processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all accounting operations ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP
• Oversee month-end and fiscal year-end close processes
• Manage all tax and regulatory reporting including IRS Forms 990/990T and charitable registrations
• Lead and coordinate the annual external audit
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial operations and reporting
• Optimize banking relationships and oversee treasury activities
• Oversee the structure and performance of the accounting department
• Serve as the business owner for financial systems

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• 10+ years of successful senior financial management experience
• Expertise in U.S. GAAP, nonprofit financial reporting, and regulatory requirements
• CPA is required
• Strong technical fluency with financial systems, ERP platforms, and reporting tools
• Demonstrated experience in enterprise risk management
