Chief Business Officer

Salary $183,311 - $225,057 per year

Bellflower Unified School District is hiring a Chief Business Officer. The CBO reports to the Superintendent, sits on the Superintendent's Executive Cabinet, and holds final administrative responsibility for the district's fiscal, business and operational services: fiscal services, facilities, maintenance and operations, transportation, technology, food services and risk management. The Directors of Fiscal Services; Maintenance, Operations and Transportation; Technology; and Food Services report to this role.

What you will do

• Direct financial and strategic planning and budget development, including aligning the LCAP with LCFF requirements
• Prepare and certify the annual budget, interim reports and multiyear projections, and oversee enrollment and attendance reporting
• Lead enrollment forecasting and long-range planning that keeps the district solvent
• Run the annual independent audit and the systems of internal control
• Direct the facilities master plan, capital projects, general obligation bond programs and support for the citizens' bond oversight committee
• Manage district real property, contracts and purchasing, and the risk management program

Requirements

• Five years of progressively responsible business and financial management in a public agency, including three years of administrative management over multiple departments; K-12 experience preferred
• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field; a master's in school business administration or public administration is preferred
• A California Chief Business Official (CBO) certification is desired
