Overview

The Chief Executive Officer of Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio (BGCSA) is the lead champion for youth across one of the fastest-growing, most diverse, and economically dynamic regions in the United States. San Antonio's unique mix of military presence, Hispanic heritage, rapid population growth, and widening socioeconomic gaps requires a visionary leader who can unite civic, business, philanthropic, and neighborhood stakeholders around transformational opportunities for young people.

The CEO shapes strategy, growth, financial resilience, and community partnerships to ensure all San Antonio youth—especially those in historically underserved communities—have access to world-class programs, safety, and pathways to success.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership for a Growing and Changing San Antonio

  • Shape and execute a forward-looking strategy aligned with San Antonio's rapid growth and evolving workforce needs.
  • Lead BGCSA's strategic expansion across San Antonio by identifying high-need opportunities and aligning Clubs with school districts, military communities, and growing suburban areas.
  • Position BGCSA as a regional leader in youth development by partnering with public, nonprofit, and business leaders.
  • Lead special projects and priority initiatives that strengthen BGCSA's long-term impact and organizational effectiveness.

Mission Impact & Program Excellence

  • Champion high-impact programs delivering measurable results for San Antonio youth across academic success, workforce readiness, digital access, and mental wellness.
  • Deepen strategic partnerships with school districts, charter networks, and municipal leaders to expand access and community impact.
  • Embed an uncompromising culture of safety and youth protection aligned with BGCA standards.

Revenue Growth & Philanthropic and Corporate Engagement

  • Lead a revenue growth strategy that reflects San Antonio's strong culture of philanthropy—particularly through foundations, corporations, individual and multi-generational family donors.
  • Cultivate major gifts and relationships with leaders across the city's banking, energy, healthcare, cybersecurity, bioscience, hospitality, and military sectors.
  • Expand partnerships with City of San Antonio, Bexar County, and regional foundations to secure sustainable public-private investment.

High-Performing Board Partnership

  • Partner closely with a passionate and influential Board of Directors representing San Antonio's business, civic, philanthropic, and military leaders.
  • Partner with Board leadership in fundraising, governance, finance, strategy, and safety.
  • Ensure the Board is well-informed, engaged, and positioned to help drive organizational growth and regional impact.

Financial Stewardship for Long-Term Impact

  • Ensure strong financial stewardship that supports sustainable growth and multi-site excellence.
  • Optimize the use of BGCSA real estate and facilities to support Club expansions, upgrades, capital investments, and new communities in need.
  • Ensure long-term financial strength through diversified funding streams.

Culture, Talent & Workforce Development

  • Build and inspire a mission-driven, culturally attuned team reflective of the communities BGCSA serves.
  • Recruit, develop, and empower leaders who can excel in a multi-site, community-based youth organization.
  • Cultivate an organizational culture grounded in equity, inclusion, safety, and continuous improvement.

Community Leadership & Brand Elevation

  • Serve as a highly visible ambassador for BGCSA across San Antonio's public, private, philanthropic, and neighborhood sectors.
  • Deepen relationships with the City, Bexar County, military bases, chambers of commerce, school districts, and major employers.
  • Elevate the BGCSA brand through media, community engagement, advocacy, and strategic storytelling.

Qualifications

  • Proven executive leadership in a multi-site or complex organization.
  • Strategic thinker with sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Track record of building and leading high-performing teams across locations.
  • Strong relationship builder with Board, community, and cross-sector partners.
  • Compelling communicator with executive presence and external credibility.
  • Experience driving impact and growth through strategic partnerships.
  • Demonstrated financial and business acumen.
  • Advanced knowledge and expertise in asset management, including financial resources and property.
  • Familiarity with youth development preferred, or the ability to quickly build credibility within a youth-serving organization.
