Deputy Director or Director, Scheduling

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) is seeking a Deputy Director or Director, Scheduling to provide strategic leadership and management in the Office of the President.

This role ensures alignment between the President's activities and organizational priorities. It manages executive engagement strategies, operational systems, and cross-organizational initiatives to maximize the President's impact. The Deputy Director/Director supervises administrative staff and acts as a senior liaison between the President and stakeholders.

Position Responsibilities:

Executive Engagement, Scheduling & Advance Work:
• Develop and implement long-term strategies for the President's engagement with key stakeholders, including board members, donors, elected officials, coalition partners, and media
• Manage decision-making processes regarding the President's participation in engagements
• Lead all advance and scheduling work for the President and serve as key staffer in high-level settings
• Oversee planning and execution of high-profile events, meetings, and travel
• Prepare and deliver briefing materials for the President's meetings and events
• Serve as senior liaison between the President and internal/external stakeholders

Budget, Staff & Culture Management:
• Manage executive expense budget, including forecasting, monitoring, and strategic allocation
• Directly manage the administrative staff in the Office of the President
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence

Qualifications:
• Minimum 6 years of experience in advance work, executive administration, and senior scheduling (8+ years for Director level)
• Exceptional strategic thinking, organizational, and communication skills
• Proven ability to manage complex budgets and high-performing teams
• Strong judgment and discretion in handling confidential information
• Ability to travel extensively (up to 50%) and work evenings/weekends
• Commitment to LGBTQ+ rights, racial and gender justice, and the HRC mission

Base Pay: $114,000 - $160,000/Year
Location: Washington, DC (in-office approximately 4 days/week)
