Established in 1993, Tampa Bay Watch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the recovery and protection of the Tampa Bay estuary through scientific and educational programs. Our mission centers on protecting the unique natural landscapes and marine environments that define the region.
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the CEO, the Development Director is responsible for creating the annual development plan and successful execution of fundraising initiatives. This position will focus on fundraising capacity, including donor cultivation, annual giving, and planned giving.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop an annual development plan aligned with the strategic plan
• Implement and manage annual giving and major gift programs
• Work with the CEO on planned giving program to increase organizational assets
• Manage and coordinate development team efforts
• Maintain consistent contact with donors, prospects, and Board of Directors
• Create and maintain donor cultivation and stewardship plans
• Work with Board of Directors on annual giving campaigns
• Identify and recruit high-profile community champions
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or related field
• Minimum 5 years experience in development and fundraising (CFRE desired)
• Experience developing and implementing annual fund campaigns and major gifts programs
• Experience managing and supervising direct reports
• Quantifiable fundraising experience in environmental or conservation nonprofits is a plus
