Director, Patient Care Services, Emergency Care Center and Critical Care

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is hiring a Director of Patient Care Services to lead the Emergency Care Center (ECC) and Critical Care departments at SMH Venice Hospital, 2600 Laurel Road, Venice. The director works with nursing leadership, physicians and interdisciplinary teams on safe, high-quality, patient-centered care, daily operations and continuous improvement. What you will do

• Lead the ECC and Critical Care departments and keep their priorities in line with the health system's goals
• Promote patient safety, clinical quality, service and evidence-based practice
• Work with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care coordination, patient flow and transitions of care
• Manage staffing plans, resource allocation and department budgets
• Recruit, retain and develop staff, and plan for succession
• Track quality, safety, operational and patient experience data and lead improvement projects
• Keep the departments compliant with regulations, accreditation standards and policy, and help prepare for emergencies

Requirements

• A Master of Science in Nursing and a Florida registered nurse license
• Seven years of experience in a related field, including at least three years of progressive leadership and management
• Leadership experience in an emergency room setting, which the posting calls required
• Experience preparing operating and capital budgets and financial reports is preferred
