OVERVIEW

Hamilton County Schools, located in Chattanooga, TN, is seeking an Executive Principal for The Howard School, a 9-12 school with a rich tradition and vibrant community. The purpose of this job is to provide effective instructional leadership and school operations, including instructional leadership, people centered management, organizational management, student development, facility management, fiscal management, and developing effective community relations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Instructional Leadership
- Collaboratively create and communicate a clear, compelling vision of high academic achievement and growth
- Build and maintain high expectations for continuous student growth with supportive accountability systems
- Conduct classroom observations and provide actionable feedback that results in improved student learning
- Ensure students master grade-level standards by aligning curriculum, instruction and assessments

People Centered Management
- Provide clear expectations for staff performance
- Implement and monitor a rigorous evaluation system
- Maintain a robust talent management system with effective recruitment and hiring
- Develop and involve families in the education of their children
- Strategically utilize community resources and partners

Organizational and Systems Management
- Foster a safe, orderly, culturally responsive and equitable learning environment
- Collaboratively create and monitor school action plans
- Collect, analyze, and use multiple forms of data to make decisions
- Perform all budgetary responsibilities with accuracy and transparency

QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree and current valid Tennessee administrative license required
- Successful classroom teaching experience and administrative experience required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong planning, organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills
