Executive Vice President, Finance and Operations

The University of Minnesota, a prestigious public land-grant research university and one of the nation’s leading research institutions, is seeking a strategic and collaborative finance leader to serve as its chief financial and administrative officer. Reporting to the President, the Executive Vice President, Finance and Operations (EVPFO) provides leadership for finance, operations, and administrative services across the University’s five-campus system and its healthcare enterprise.

The role involves managing a $5.1 billion operating budget, leading a staff of over 2,700 FTE, and aligning financial and operational resources with the University’s “Elevate Extraordinary 2030” strategic roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and treasurer.
• Provide strategic vision and tactical leadership to the President, senior leadership, and the Board of Regents.
• Ensure financial strength, operational excellence, and organizational capacity.
• Partner with the Executive Vice President and Provost to align finance, IT, and university services with research and educational objectives.
• Manage the fiscal and physical environment of the University system.
