Human Resources Consultant (HR Director - School of Civic Life and Leadership)

$75,000 - $82,500 annually
Lead HR professional for the School of Civic Life and Leadership at UNC-Chapel Hill, reporting to the Associate Dean for Finance and Operations. Advise school leadership on all human resources matters including recruitment, hiring, classification, compensation, leaves, performance management, and compliance.
Oversee HR processes for EHRA, SHRA, faculty, graduate assistants, and temporary staff. Manage high-volume HR transactions and serve as primary liaison with the College Business Office, University HR, and Compliance offices. Use ConnectCarolina, PeopleAdmin, LawLogix I-9, and InfoPorte systems.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree plus at least 2 years of progressively responsible professional HR experience. Strong communication skills, sound judgment, discretion, policy knowledge, and ability to prioritize competing deadlines. Proficiency with MS Word and Excel required.
Preferred: Broader HR experience, HR certifications (PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP), familiarity with PeopleSoft/InfoPorte, UNC HR policies, higher education HR, and visa processing.
Note: This is a time-limited position contingent on continued funding.
