National Data Officer

IOM – International Organization for Migration (UN Migration) is seeking a National Data Officer to support its Global Office Washington based in Washington, D.C. The role bolsters the Global Office Washington's strategic engagement with the United States Government, Multilateral Development Banks and Academia by better harnessing IOM's data capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Draft regular analytical products on key operational contexts relevant to U.S. Government priorities
• Produce monthly and ad-hoc information products of analysis and insights for U.S. government stakeholders
• Contribute to mapping and monitoring the intersection of IOM data operations with US Government priorities
• Deliver regular pre-approved data briefings to relevant U.S. Government counterparts
• Work closely with U.S. government counterparts to refine analytical methodologies
• Support development of innovative data visualization tools for policymakers
• Support collaboration with Multilateral Development Banks (World Bank, IDB) on data and analysis
• Provide technical assistance on joint data tools and research
• Support collaboration with US universities related to IOM data
• Coordinate university capstone projects with IOM

Qualifications:

• Advanced university degree (Master's) in Economics, Data Science, Information Technology, or related field plus 2 years' experience; or Bachelor's degree plus 4 years' experience
• Professional experience using data to advance decisions, applied analytics, business intelligence, statistics
• Experience in partnership-building with donor/government counterparts, academia, and UN inter-agency initiatives
• In-depth knowledge of migration and human mobility data; experience with PowerBI, Tableau, Excel, GIS, SQL
• Strong communication and writing skills required
• Fluency in English required
