POSITION SUMMARY

This is a full-time one-year appointment for a Postdoctoral Psychology Resident to provide clinical and outreach services to Duke students at Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS). The role requires enthusiasm to work with undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, a commitment to holistic student well-being, and openness to innovative mental health service delivery models.

KEY POSITION DUTIES

Direct Services (60%):
- Conduct initial intakes, determine and recommend treatment plans, provide ongoing therapy services
- Initiate and facilitate group therapy services
- Provide triage, crisis care, and clinical consultation
- Develop and facilitate outreach and workshops on mental health and wellness topics
- Participate in campus-wide prevention efforts

Administrative and Professional Duties (35%):
- Participate in individual supervision with a licensed psychologist
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulations
- Work collaboratively with internal and external colleagues
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency services
- Attend staff meetings, clinical consultation team meetings, and training seminars

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA approved program.
Experience: Successful completion of an APA-accredited doctoral internship program.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated experience providing evidence-based mental health services
- Experience in crisis assessment, intervention, consultation and case management
- Experience working with emerging and young adult populations, preferably in university counseling
- Strong commitment to overall wellbeing of students of all communities
