Regional Director, Facilities Operations

The ASPCA is seeking a Regional Director of Facilities Operations to lead the strategic and day-to-day management of ASPCA facilities across multiple key locations, including North Carolina, Ohio, Mississippi, Kansas, Los Angeles (California), Oklahoma, Texas, and Illinois.

Who We Are:

The Facilities team ensures all ASPCA locations are fully operational so that staff and volunteers have optimum conditions to meet their program and department goals. We ensure a healthy environment for all animals that visit our locations.

Position Overview:

This role reports directly to the Vice President, Facilities and Fleet Management and has 4 direct reports. This position is based in-person in Columbus, Ohio with ability and willingness to travel up to 20% annually.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilities Oversight, Management and Planning (50%):
• Oversee ASPCA's facilities staff and operations across multiple locations
• Provide direct oversight of repairs and maintenance
• Assist in developing and maintaining Preventative Maintenance Programs
• Support development of standardized operating procedures (SOPs)
• Supervise and manage work order system
• Lead facilities projects including vendor selection, budgeting, and timeline execution
• Negotiate and manage vendor contracts
• Collaborate with Safety department to maintain safe environments

Team Leadership & Development (40%):
• Lead and coach a team of Facilities Managers and custodial staff
• Provide strategic vision and guide development of policies
• Oversee team culture of continuous improvement and accountability
• Deliver consistent performance feedback
• Ensure departmental compliance with collective bargaining agreement

Compliance and Training (10%):
• Guide implementation of policies supporting high-quality maintenance services
• Ensure compliance with ASPCA's core values and Behavioral Competencies

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities and project management
• Minimum 3 years of experience leading multi-site teams
• Extensive knowledge of building systems (electrical, HVAC, fire alarm, etc.)
• Proficient in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and OSHA compliance
• Experience with unionized teams and labor contracts
• Valid driver's license required
• Bachelor's degree in facilities management related field (preferred)
