Position Title: Director for Advancement Operations and Strategic Engagement

Department: Institutional Advancement

Classification: Staff, Salaried, Exempt

Reports to: VP of Institutional Advancement

Location: Remote within the continental US. Office will be within driving distance to any campus.

Compensation: $105,000 - $125,000

Position Summary

The Director for Advancement Operations and Strategic Engagement will be an experienced leader in academic institutional advancement that will add to the professionalism and capacity of the existing team. The Director will work closely with the VP of Institutional Advancement to expand and implement strategy to grow the revenue at Antioch University, increase engagement opportunities with alumni and friends of the University, support the creation and management of affinity groups/societies, clarify external messaging, analyze data for trends, and assist in the implementation of systems and tools to increase efficiency and efficacy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Expand Team Capacity (80%)

  • Develop and Monitor KPIs: Collaborate with the database manager to establish and track key performance indicators
  • Leverage Predictive Analytics: Use data insights and AI to drive annual giving growth and support the major gift pipeline
  • Enhance Donor and Alumni Engagement: Support donor societies and alumni engagement through events, groups, strategic stewardship, and other creative activities
  • Implement Multi-Channel Communication Strategy: Design and execute a layered communication plan that enhances alumni and donor engagement
  • Identify and Support New Grant Opportunities: Partner with the grants manager to surface grant-worthy and grant-ready projects
  • Contribute to Strategic Planning: Participate in the development and refinement of long-term engagement and fundraising strategies
  • Manage Program Budgets: Oversee budgets related to alumni engagement, stewardship, and joint initiatives
  • Government/Foundation Relations: Partner with the VPIA, Grant Manager, and philanthropy officers to monitor opportunities

Support Emerging Needs (20%)

  • Prepare for IA-SSO implementation
  • Adapt to Evolving Priorities: Respond to shifting team needs as new information and opportunities arise
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred, with 5 years of development, prospect management, and/or grants experience
  • Experience with major functional areas of advancement
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) skills
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and apply insights from data
  • Track record of successful team development and project leadership

Benefits Summary:
