Position: Director of Development - George Mason University College of Education and Human Development
The Director of Development is a senior fundraising officer working closely with the Dean, school directors, and faculty to implement fundraising priorities. Under the Senior Director of Development, this position engages in development activity including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospects for major gifts ($25,000+) and principal gifts ($1 million+).
Responsibilities: Maintain personal portfolio of 75-90 prospects; actively engage prospects to ensure movement; identify corporate and foundation opportunities; meet/exceed metrics for contacts, visits, solicitations and funds raised; direct solicitation of gifts; support cultivation and stewardship events; coordinate with Central Advancement services; travel as necessary for donor outreach.
Requirements: Master's degree; demonstrated record of successful major gift solicitations; experience managing multiple projects; success in securing foundation and corporate support; experience with donor management database; excellent research, writing and interpersonal communication skills; ability to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends; valid driver's license.
Salary: Starting in the low $130,000s | Location: Fairfax, VA (Hybrid Eligible)
