Position Summary
The Director of Women's Imaging is an experienced professional who leads and coordinates the operational and administrative functions of Mammography and Dexa services. In this role, the incumbent will lead a collaborative team of technologists by directing staff activities and overseeing quality assurance and control activities. The incumbent will perform all duties associated with acquisition, processing, submission for interpretation, and archiving mammography and bone density studies as requested by referring physician and consistent with the facility's guidelines, and will be responsible for the care of the patient while in imaging area.
Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
- Greet and interact with patients, visitors, vendors, and all faculty and staff in a courteous, helpful, professional, and ethical manner.
- Perform mammography and bone density studies and general radiological procedures according to practice standards.
- Operate and maintain equipment on a daily basis, maintaining logbooks with equipment performance data.
- Perform clerical responsibilities associated with acquisition, processing, and archiving of patient records.
- Take initiative to resolve patient safety and patient experience concerns within the scope of practice.
- Provides clinical coverage as needed across NYC and Westchester sites.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality according to HIPAA requirements at all times.
- Development and updating of mammography and Dexa protocols.
- Collaborate with medical director, technologists and practice leadership on evaluation of equipment upgrades and purchases.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance with MQSA, ACR, FDA, and state regulations.
- Oversees daily operations, staffing, and scheduling for mammography technologists.
- Leads training, competency assessments, recruitment, onboarding, performance management for technologists.
- Manages quality control activities, maintains SOPs, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Drives workflow improvements and performance initiatives in partnership with management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus five (5) years of relevant experience.
- NYS license, ARRT and mammography certified.
- Current BLS required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with supporting recruitment, training, and performance management for technologists preferred.
Salary Range: $160,000-$190,000
