Foundation Senior Director Development : Administration

The Senior Director of Development will be a key member of the Hoag Hospital Foundation (HHF) team, playing a vital role in advancing Hoag Health System's mission and impact. This position focuses on expanding and diversifying the donor base in support of critical programs. The position advances philanthropic revenue by cultivating meaningful relationships with donors and partners. This includes supporting the full donor lifecycle—from identification through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship—with particular attention to major and principal gifts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a portfolio of donors and prospects, advancing them through identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Build strategic partnerships with clinicians and program leaders to identify and engage prospects.
- Develop and execute individualized cultivation and solicitation strategies.
- Ensure timely, meaningful stewardship through acknowledgment, recognition, and impact reporting.
- Prepare high-quality proposals, briefings, presentations, and donor materials.
- Align fundraising priorities with institutional goals and campaigns.
- Provide leadership for cross-functional initiatives; mentor staff and support campaign planning.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years progressively responsible fundraising experience.
- Proven ability to solicit and close gifts at the $100,000+ (major) / $1M+ (principal) level.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and mentoring fundraisers.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong alignment to Hoag's mission.
