Senior Director, Climate & Rights

Washington D.C., DC, USA  (Hybrid)

$144,000 - $165,600 annually

Greenpeace USA seeks a dynamic, strategic leader to serve as Senior Director, Climate & Rights—responsible for leading and integrating our climate and democracy campaign portfolios.

About Greenpeace: Global independent campaigning organization using peaceful protest to expose environmental problems and promote solutions. Recent achievements include Global Oceans Treaty, phasing out single-use plastics from federal operations, and protecting marine sanctuaries.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide senior leadership for integrated Climate & Rights portfolio
- Manage Climate and Democracy Campaign Directors
- Ensure aligned, mutually reinforcing strategies
- Defend speech and peaceful protest against SLAPP lawsuits
- Partner with Development for fundraising
- Foster collaboration across legal, communications, engagement teams
- Represent Greenpeace with partners, allies, and funders

Qualifications:
- 10+ years senior leadership in climate, democracy, or human rights
- Experience managing senior leaders and multi-issue portfolios
- Strategic campaigning with commitment to non-violent direct action
- Strong political analysis and risk awareness
- Coalition work with grassroots and frontline partners
- In-depth knowledge of US politics and social movements

12-month contract, Hybrid position
Preferably Washington D.C. (CA, NY, NJ, MA considered)
Salary: $144,000 - $165,600 annually
