Vice President, ACCSC Compliance and Regulatory Affairs

Cotulla Education (home to Aviation Institute of Maintenance, Centura College, Tidewater Tech, and American Lineman College) is seeking a Vice President, ACCSC Compliance and Regulatory Affairs.

This is a remote executive leadership role with periodic travel to Virginia Beach, VA and campus locations nationally. Candidates in Eastern or Central time zones are preferred.

Salary: $195,000 - $225,000 plus annual performance bonus

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The VP of Accreditation & Regulatory Affairs serves as the senior compliance executive and strategic growth partner for Cotulla Education. This role provides enterprise-wide leadership across a multi-campus, multi-brand organization for regulatory strategy, accreditation oversight (ACCSC and COE), state authorization, SARA participation, institutional governance, and compliance risk management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Executive Leadership:
- Develop and lead enterprise compliance strategy aligned with institutional growth plans
- Serve as senior advisor on regulatory risk, accreditation strategy, and compliance exposure
- Oversee regulatory due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and institutional transactions
- Lead regulatory strategy for expansion initiatives, new programs, and new campus development

Accreditation & Regulatory Oversight:
- Provide executive oversight for ACCSC and COE accreditation compliance across multiple institutions
- Serve as primary executive liaison to accrediting agencies and state regulatory bodies
- Oversee state authorization and SARA compliance across all jurisdictions
- Monitor federal and state regulatory changes impacting institutional operations

Compliance Infrastructure & Governance:
- Oversee enterprise compliance programs including policy governance, internal audit, and corrective action tracking
- Implement scalable compliance tools and enterprise standards for a multi-campus system

Team Leadership:
- Build and mentor a high-performing regulatory team
- Establish KPIs measuring both audit/renewal success and speed-to-market for new programs

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's or JD preferred
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in postsecondary education compliance
- Deep experience with ACCSC accreditation standards
- COE accreditation experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-state regulatory environments
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or institutional growth
- Executive-level communication and board reporting experience
- Willingness to travel 15-25%
