Salary: $81,375 - $105,000/Year

CSBA is seeking an experienced governance professional with strong facilitation and consulting expertise. Under the direction of the Senior Governance Consultant, you will design and deliver customized governance consulting services to school district and county office of education board members and superintendents.

You will provide guidance to governance teams on the role of trustees, board authority, effective governance practices, defining mission, values and vision, codes of conduct, behavioral norms, board culture, procedures, communications, board meeting conduct, board self-evaluation and superintendent evaluation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design and facilitate highly complex governance consulting services for school district and COE governance teams
- Assist local school boards in developing and strengthening effective governance practices
- Prepare clear and accurate reports on consulting outcomes and maintain appropriate records
- Collaborate with Senior Governance Consultant to develop consulting materials, resources, and implement new consulting services
- Market CSBA's products, programs and services in alignment with consulting engagements
- Contribute to CSBA's research and policy agenda by developing subject matter expertise
- Facilitate CSBA board development courses including Masters in Governance series and pre-Conference workshops

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in education, business administration, public administration, government, legal or political science, or related field
- 5 years of experience in governance consulting with school district governance teams, administration, or school board service
- Master's degree preferred
- Experience with public school or non-profit boards preferred

Knowledge of:
- Principles, practices and trends in TK-12 education governance in California
- Consulting practices including group facilitation, conflict management, board development, coaching and mentoring
- School district operations and trends in TK-12 public education

This is a teleworking position with extensive travel throughout California. CSBA offers a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of three days in-office at their West Sacramento headquarters.
